6 Months After
Monday March 11, 2002
In honor of all lost, there is a 6 month memorial that has been planned for the victims. At precisely 8:46 and 9:03 there will be two moments of silence. The nationally televised Battery Park tribute will also feature poetry, and words from Mayor Bloomberg, and two of the many gentlemen that led us though this difficult time, Rudy Guiliani, and Govenor George Pataki. We here at TheWTCMemorial encourage you to take part in the moments of silence, as well as watch the service.
Tribute in Lights
The "Tribute in Light" memorial is scheduled to run between 6:30 and 11 p.m. for 32 straight nights.
Learn more about the tribute and how it began here.

We have changed around our victims page for the better. Although we have disconnected our list of vctims, we have been granted permission to link to Newsday's "The Lost" where you will find information, bio's and photographs of the 2,830+ that have been lost. Please visit there now.

It's been one month today since the September 11th attack on America.
Over the past month only about 20% of the remains of this disaster have
been removed and it is believed that it will take about one year to clean
it up. The war on terrorism continues into its 5th day of air strikes
and progress is still yet to be known. September 11, 2001 is a day that
will never be forgotten. This not only affected the lives of the people
who died as a result it hurts the world.

As we continue to get the poems we continue to thank
all of you.
Tonight's
Address by the President was strong and supportive for our nation and
for the world. "On
September the 11th, enemies of freedom committed an act of war against
our country. Americans have known wars -- but for the past
136 years, they have been wars on foreign soil, except for one Sunday
in 1941. Americans have known the casualties of war -- but
not at the center of a great city on a peaceful morning. Americans
have known surprise attacks -- but never before on thousands of civilians. All
of this was brought upon us in a single day -- and night fell on a different
world, a world where freedom itself is under attack..." read the
speech now.

Words
to Live By
Someone has said the five most motivating words are, "You can make
a difference." Indeed, most of us want to know that we can make a
difference. Today let's decide to have a positive attitude by choosing
not to allow petty inconveniences to irritate us. We can make a difference
by being optimistic. Today we can make a difference by not allowing our
minds to be contaminated by boredom or anxiety. We can use these 24 hours
to be encouraging, loving, and giving. Today we can make a difference
by not allowing past mistakes to haunt us, refusing to rummage through
the garbage pit of past failure. Today we can make a difference by spending
time with those we love-mates, children, parents, friends. We can choose
to be the richest person alive by investing ourselves in people. Let's
spend at least five quality minutes of talking, hugging, listening, thanking
or praying. God has called you and me to make a difference. We can do
that today!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

Also for
all families and individuals flying Old Glory, please see this link to
make sure you are flying it correctly. Please also note (I noticed it
was not noted on this link) that if you are flying the flag at night,
a light should be shining on it at all times. Also a flag should not be
flown in inclement weather. Flag

Thank
you to the many contributors
Thank you to all of you for sending in the poems, the support links, and
the pictures. We are trying our best to get everything posted from all
positive contributions. So, if you don't see your poem or picture up immediately,
have no worries, we are trying very hard to get to all of the mail. Just
to let everyone out there know how much you have helped, we are averaging
over 400 e-mails per day of poems, kind words, and praise. We have gotten
mail as far away as Japan, China, France, Italy, and the Netherlands,
in as many languages also! I also know there has been some confusion as
far as what ribbons people should be wearing. I have heard from various
sources, plain blue ribbons or red, white, and blue ribbons. Please also
show your support by tying a yellow ribbon around your tree, or flying
Old Glory for the next 30 days!

Please
Note:
Although we are possibly the largest memorial
website that has been put together in response to the September
11th attacks, we do not have any direct affiliation with the City
of New York, or have any direct influence on the permanent memorial.
We will soon have an FAQ page posted to assist anyone with many
of the questions we recieve on a daily basis. Once again, we thank
all of you for your help and support.

It
is with deep regret that
we have created this site. Today, is quite possibly the single greatest
disaster in modern history with the loss of people at the WTC, as
well as the towers themselves. It is unknown as to what the loss
count may be.
As
we continue to work here, we will keep you posted on more info.
As there are many news sites covering this event, we will provide
