The
dark cloud
Sweeps over the sky,
Encompassing brightness
Stilling the eye.
As
the fog rolls in
Instantly limiting sight,
Blurred vision, obscured
Thought, limited light.
The
choice of the moment
The cloud is seen,
Is to choose between
Visions as yet unseen.
The
choice is imminent
Unwanted and forced,
Step away quickly
Or the mind is lost.
Sucked
and pulled down
To quickening depths,
As the mind spirals towards the darkness
As yet unchecked.
Lifted
anew
By shear force of thought,
Relived lightness
As focus is taught.

The
day the towers fell
i
stood and stared
at the screen in awe
i scratched my head
and dropped my jaw
a whole nations inocence was lost
the day the towers fell
we
thought we had violence immunity yet we were attacked with impunity as
a country we watched together the day the towers fell
the
loss of human life was great
a sudden death was the awfull fate
of many thousands in the wrong place the day the towers fell
a
nation under god united
we refuse to stay lost and frightened
we were not even close to defeated
the day the towers fell
community
spirits are running high
in the aftermath of terror in the sky
our strength is in our peoples hearts
the day the towers fell

To Those who
have suffered lose I give you this Poem
For the tragedy that occured spetember 2001 on the 11th day, we bow our heads
and we begin to pray. We think of what has transpired and for the lose you all
suffer. But we would like you to know this, our thoughts are with you,our hopes
are to.
Through the tears and sorrow we all feel, remember friends and family will help
us heal. Remembering what our pride and anger brought us and what it has cost
us and for those who we love we have now lost. Now we must ban together as one,
to fight and to over come, we are all like a family united for one goal. To
help us all heal, to help us all grow.
The time will come when the pain will go, but we will never forget this we all
know. Once time has passed, we will see, just how useless war can be."
--Debbie Swanson Montreal, Quebec
Today we grieve. We
grieve with those who have lost love ones. We feel the pain of those who do not
know if their mother, father, sister, bother, friend, neighbours, etc. are either
dead or alive. Today New York City, the United States, Canada, and the freedom
loving people of the world are united by the pain and grief. Today I pray for
those people, may God comfort them and help them through this most trying time.
May God help us find those who are responsible for this most horrific crime. May
God bless us and America!
--Richard Konopada Brampton, Ontario, Canada

The Sleeping Dragon Arises -
My Tribute To America and All The People of the Free World
The sleeping dragon
Who has slept so complacently;
So quietly; so silently,
For so many years,
Has been awakened, suddenly,
And shall rear Her head up high;
Stretching her fiery wings across this sphere;
Swooping, and gliding; watching, and searching,
For Her invisible foe.
And when she plunges from the sky,
And finds the adversary she seeks,
She shall assail this challenger with severity;
She shall endorse her vengeance
By sinking her razor fangs
Into his blackened Soul.
And execute a wrath so severe
That his blood shall be lent
Forevermore.
--Donna McVittie, Winfield Alberta Canada
"A Poem for the Grieving..."
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die...

A Message to New York City:
We are a diverse country, but I don't like to hear that people are amazed that
we have pulled together so well in this time of crisis. Every American citizen
knows the same freedoms and knows in their hearts that we are united - Always.
United though we differ in life styles, ambitions, and individual priorities.
United though we are of different races, heritages, and religions. United
though we differ in our political views, policies, and strategies. United -Always.
It is enough to know that the others are there, like having a close family
member or friend who lives far away. We know we can count on each other,
regardless of distance, because in our hearts, minds, and souls we are united
-Always.
Although I don't personally know anyone who is directly affected by this
outrageous and unprovoked act of war, I am grieving. My heart is wrenching with
the pain I feel for the victims and their families, and I cry. I cry for the
loved ones lost and the loved ones left behind. And I cry because I am fearful
that our country will suffer further by the loss of soldiers defending this
great nation that is united - Always.
I believe with all my heart that I can speak for our nation when I say, New
York
City, we have heard your call. We are ready to help you, so please tell us what
you need. There is nothing that you cannot ask for. Somewhere in these great
United States, anything you need is available for you. Please know and
understand that you are not alone because we are united - Always.

p>Sometimes we just don't get the chance to say our last goodbye
Something tragic happens and we are left so sit around and cry
We can't understand the why or how, it just doesn't make sense
How can anyone comprehend this complicated mess?
How could someone take innocent lives and throw them all away
Trying to play God..it's not right... oh how we hope they pay.
What remains is not merely a memory... vivid pictures in our minds...
as still we are forced to see devastation and the loss of life.
It's hard to think of life before...now seemingly robbed of all the good
We all wish time would just go back...to save as much as we could.
We cannot know what passed their lips before life's final breaths
The fear...so real..the moments just before their tragic deaths.
To the loved ones of the many thousands whose lives were taken in a flash...
This is the ultimate nightmare...one so horrible and rash.
For now our lives must go on...memories still haunting every mind...
and hearts changed forever...because of one single day in time.

In memory of those who have been lost, and to
encourage those of us who mourn them, I would like to
offer my favorite inspirational quote:
"When you reach the end of the light and are faced
with unfamiliar darkness, you must have faith that one
of two things will happen: either you will find
something to stand on, or God will give you wings to
fly."

THE TIME CAME
All people were secure in their world
A world that had never known the ravages of war
Then the time came
The sun and the moon traveled their cycles
Giving warmth and renewal, ever consistent
Then the time came
Children laughed, lovers joined, days became months
Lives ceased in the natural order
Then the time came
Birds flew, flowers grew, land as far as the eye could see
Streams flowed, rain came and went
Then the time came
Storms, draughts, floods, cold winters
Each in their time, each with their trials
Then the time came
People of many lands existed side by side
Even with differences of language and custom
Then the time came
The time when the sun was no more, from clouds black and thick
The time when freedom became fear, natures worst became preferable
The time of man against man, nation fighting nation
The time of seeing the dark side of life, the horror of useless suffering
The time of hate, grief overwhelming, lost souls, souls lost
But in that time grew compassion, relentless efforts to help
Sorrow shared became strength, a will to become more than before
And the time passed.

"As The Smoke Clears"
The first strike
Crosses freedom's door
And as the smoke clears
Saviors move in
They don't think of themselves
Only the less lucky
Trapped within
They give their lives
But, as the smoke clears
More angels move in
Risking themselves
Let's not forget
That terrorist wings
Were clipped
By Patriot Spirits
Who sacrificed everything
Never Forget
And as the smoke clears
We clearly see
A Nation United
--Jennifer Johnson, 18, Lancaster, OH
In memory of all those who perished in tuesday mornings devastatingly horrible
acts of terrorism:
The passengers along with the pilot's and crew members on the United Air and
American Air flights.
All of the workers and visitors in the World Trade Center Towers and surrounding
WTC complex Buildings in New York
To the hundreds of dedicated federal employees at the United States Pentagon.
To the many public servants who lost their lives in this horrific tragedy,
including police officers, firefighters and the many other countless volunteers
and to all of the innocent bystanders and passerby's who suffered injuries or
even the loss of a loved one.
Our prayers go out to you and to those of you, who were friends or families
of the deceased. As my family and I witnessed these terrorist actions as they
were televised worldwide this day. We couldnt help but pray to god and to give
thanks that in as much as we are aware, none of our family or friends were personally
affected by these terrible acts inflicted upon the this sacred soil of The United
States on the 11th day of September 2001.
To all of the Doctors and Nurses and the vast numbers of other Emergency Services
and the many more volunteers who are still at this moment dedicating their professional
skills and personal energy despite the unbelievable stress, personal emotions
and further potential dangers that may still be existing in those War Zone Areas.
As a nation, the least we can do is say Thank You, while we all pray that God
bless you and your families
May God Bless Us All

A TRIBUTE TO ALL - WTC
Tragedy has struck our nation
In a manner, we have not seen
As I watched the terror unfolding
My only thought, it must be a dream
So many innocent lives were lost
What a horrible price they had to pay
The only crime they committed
Was getting up and going to work that day
The barbaric act of violence
Has touched so many lives
All because of a handful of terrorists
Wielding cardboard box cutting knives
Such an assault on innocent lives
And now the whole nation mourns
Their memories will live on forever
As our very foundation was rocked and torn
We are a strong people
And many heroes have come forth
Trying to save just one more life
Working for all they are worth
They work and work, day and night
And for that they should be proud
As our nation of people thank them
I am certain they hear us strong, clear and loud
But the loudest voice of them all
Is still yet to come
When those who are responsible, must pay the price
They will know where the voice come from
It won't be an act of terror
Instead on act of mankind
In an effort to erradicate these thugs
And ease our nations mind
My thoughts go out to all
The deamons we have seen
We must destroy them all
Before we can truly Dream

"Gone"
A dragon sets the world ablaze
with one breath from his grimy snout.
His ashen tail tears the sky asunder
where once the shining Towers stood.
A dark dragon laughs, smoke billows
from his maw, as army fighters
replace jet liners, as bridges,
roads, and tunnels close --
There will be no election, no
politics as usual, no school
tomorrow, and young men will
leave their families to defend us
from the monster. As life awaits
resumption, the beast suspends us
by a claw. We live a movie --
"Saucer Attacks Pentagon" --
I saw that once, right
after "Towering Inferno"
and "Pearl Harbor". Children
dance and eat candy in Palestine.
We are at war with the unseeen,
kamikazes who fly straight
to Allah for their sacrifice
-- with hundreds of unwilling souls.
New York will never be the same,
reminded each time I scan the sky for
our Towers -- visible from every corner
of our great metropolis -- GONE!!!
--Catherine Gutleber New York City
