Standing Tall

One Year Later
September 11, 2002
It has been 365 days since we created this memorial site, and although a difficult undertaking, both emotionally and from a time aspect, we still stand by the belief that it has been the most worthwhile and rewarding professional undertaking we have ever chosen to do. Though it has been six months since the last update, we have monitored the emails, message board and lists consistently. What amazes us to this day is not only how we were able to help you, but you were able to help us, as well as help the many other visitors to this site. Simply by visiting, posting words, thoughts and pictures, this site still accomplishes it's intended goals.

Three months ago we sat and reviewed, thinking of this day that has come upon us now. We discussed a redesign of the site, and whether that would have a positive or negative effect on us, as well as the many viewers this site has had. After some discussion we decided against a redesign. We designed this last September to memorialize those that we have lost, loved, and now miss. For us to go and change anything, would in turn alter peoples views of that day and the anything that happened soon afterward.

Although there has been significant media hype over the past two weeks about this day, we tend to believe that the excessive exposure lessens the importance of remembering 9/11. Being one year later does not make that day any more significant than the first day, first week, or ninety-third day after the event. That is because each and ever day that passes is still a day someone is living without a father, a mother, a sister, a brother, a loved one; and each and every day is one of significance. This excessive exposure one year later cannot educate us anymore than we were educated on that fateful day and the days that soon followed.

We encourage everyone to say a prayer, attend a vigil or memorial ceremony, fly Old Glory proudly, and observe a moment of silence for those lost but not forgotten, however we also encourage you to live your life, carry on your routine as those lost loved ones would want you to, because we cannot afford to lose another day to this war on terror.

Little Notes
"When life's journey here is ended, and earth's path no more be trod, May their names, in gold be written, 'longside the autograph of God."

This submission is from Manolito Galang submitting for her daughter,

"The terrorists can destroy my home...
The terrorists can detroy the American buildings,
But the one thing they can't destroy is my
AMERICAN SPIRIT"

It is with deep regret that we have created this site. Today, is quite possibly the single greatest disaster in modern history with the loss of people at the WTC, as well as the towers themselves. It is unknown as to what the loss count may be.
